And, heh, I guess I shouldn't find it surprising that cops enjoy it - there's actually a line in the show where they're talking about CHiPs (but on a meta level clearly referencing H50 itself) and calling it a "TV cop fantasy" :-). But I just find it disturbing because I think these kinds of shows feed into a myth in American culture that all of these rules are just technicalities that are manipulated by evil defense attorneys. And I think that's dangerous and it has real-world effects on our political dialogue.
