Notes: Honestly, this vid is more catharsis for me than anything else. I can't help 'shipping Steve and Danny, but I really resent the show for making it impossible for me to love them guilt-free, and for making me feel so ashamed about liking the parts that I like. So I felt like I had to at least register my objections in some way, however weak the effort may be, in between all the devouring of Steve/Danny first-time fic. IDEK.

This vid never fails to make me want to cry... out of guilt. I mean, I like this show. What is wrong with me??

Hey, we're all in the same boat - me, and a lot of other commenters feel the same way. I just wish the show could have the good parts without using the glamorized violence as a crutch.

Wow. Um. Wow. Um.

I may not be the intended audience for this, not being a watcher of ...well, of this particular cop show, though most cop shows and for that matter superhero stories these days go over the line to some degree-- but I thought it was a great vid. Strong in the visual flow and energy, the sickening emotional impact, and the sense of bitterness towards the show. The flinch from the gun on the jaw in between the shots of uniforms and medals opened it really well.

I'm glad the vid worked for you! I think H50 is different from a lot of cop shows - most shows don't feature the protagonists doing this kind of violence, or if they do, it's criticized within the show itself - on H50, it's supposed to be heroic. Sigh.

Yeah, judging from the vid, H5O appears a deal more into that than any show I've seen other than 24.

But superheroes, for example, are always dangling suspects off roofs and that sort of thing. I've been enjoying reading commentary on how that shit doesn't even make sense.

Oh, yes, totally - when I want to rack up the bad procedure tally, one of the things is always the threatened/coerced confession which could never be used against the suspect.

That said, David E. Kelley once had an episode of The Practice that detailed - with extreme accuracy - exactly how cops can legally torture a suspect. The entire episode was about the lawyers trying to get this guy out of custody and toget the torture to stop, and they couldn't.

But H50 is not that accurate. Nor is it trying to make the cops look bad.
