GAWWW. I had forgotten how infectiously fun Mika is! Great vid, it's going on my vid shuffle right away. Adorable boys always touching and bugging each other and things! I particularly liked the bit at the end where Lancelot points between them, then it cuts to Merlin biting his lip and looking cheerfully guilty. \o/

I think possibly my favorite part of the vid is the HORRORS at "shut up and forget it" - because yes, this is SHINY! HAPPY! BOYS! fandom, but ... the skeevy bits and the problematic elements of canon, they're not going to be invisible just because the boys will be PRETTY at them.

I appreciate so much that you included that, as someone who enjoys the fandom as a passing fancy when she's in the mood for Arthurian AU but can't actually interact with either canon or fandom for very long because those bits tend to get glossed over too easily for her tastes.

But those boys are adorable, too, and this vid was so cute and sweet and bouncy - but that spot of a darker, nastier vibe to the show that all the slashiness in the world can't erase, that just hit me so perfectly.

Hey, thank you! Yeah, Mika has this odd pop-happy sound with a real bite to his lyrics, and it felt right for Merlin fandom. And I'm really glad that the different moods of the vid worked for you!

But, the boys are awfully pretty at them, aren't they :-)?

I worry that comment came off as a little too focused on the disturbing bits because this was primarily a vid about the SHINY! HAPPY! BOYS!, but, well, the show itself, the fandom, and the vids are usually about the SHINY! HAPPY! BOYS! so it felt like that part should've gone without saying, I wanted to focus on the part that stood out and made me go "WHOA! I hadn't been expecting THAT!".

But really, they are ridiculously pretty at all that horrible nonsense, it is undeniable.

I'm kind of afraid this song might get stuck in my head for the rest of the week ^^;;

I really enjoyed this--the song, the clips you chose, and the way you cut them together. I rewatched it a few times trying to figure out what the song was about (it fits them so well! poppy and light-hearted, and he keeps pushing him away but he's happy he's there!), and each time it was lots of fun to watch their relationship and expressions. It's just so crisp and entertaining :D!

I'm so glad you liked it - and that you think the song fit! Because I admit, I have no clue at all what the song is supposed to be about - but I liked it for them for exactly the reasons you say - Arthur keeps pushing Merlin away and Merlin keeps popping back.
