giandujakissBasically, she used Kickstarter to raise money for a video about the representation of women in video games, and since then she's been subject to increasingly awful, and violent, online harassment.
I haven't posted about it before because mostly I just sort of freeze in horror at each new escalation. But if somehow you've missed it, or the latest developments, here's a summary, with serious trigger warnings for some of the images. Also, the comments just continue to perpetuate the harassment. (Even on ThinkProgress, a liberal site with reliably liberal commenters, you can find various men arguing that Sarkeesian is a fraud - like that could possibly justify the harassment - that the project is worthless - like that could possibly justify the harassment - etc)
Sarkeesian has been kind of amazing throughout all of this - she's refused to be intimidated, and she's made all of the harassment public, so you can see exactly what's been happening. And the only good thing to come out of it is that she's raised $158,000.
