I have finally finished my Club Vivid Vid!

Yes, I know, I may have made a similar announcement before, but the trouble with Club Vivid deadlines is that they come in the middle of the TV season and sometimes you finish your vid and then more stuff airs and you have to bug the CVV people and beg them to let you resubmit it.

But! This time it's really finished.

At least as far as VVC is concerned. Umm, I make no promises about what will happen with the version that eventually gets posted online.

(It's funny how hard it is to substitute new footage into a completed vid. Any vid will have spots that are weaker, where you used a clip that wasn't quite right because you didn't have an alternative - but then you try to make up for that by altering the vid's structure and using clips elsewhere that are selected to support the weak clip. So it's like a house of cards when you finally find a better clip and try to substitute it. Annoying.)

I am fascinated by this concept of vidding around weak spots. *ponders*

Well, it's just, you know, now that that clip's there, you need to give it some meaning, so you choose other clips to match - and the surrounding clips match it in movement, or whatever. So even when you find a better clip, it can be tough to do a straight substitution.

And this particular vid is a multifandom, which you'd think makes it easier, but I have this whole philosophy about multifandoms and little mini-arcs within them, so.... anyhoo, I'm not sure if I made the right choice in the end but it's in, I'm done, I will just try to let it rest.
