I'll agree to the elimination of the corporate income tax if you agree to the elimination of limited liability for shareholders. Deal? Problem fucking solved.

(I love that her solution to the problem of entrenched corporate power is to eliminate regulations. That worked so well for everyone in 1885.)

I briefly subscribed to the print Atlantic mostly on the strength of my love for TNC, and now I spend a lot of time being angry at them instead. I find it hilarious (in an awful way) that they have one token black correspondent and one token female correspondent, but at least the token black correspondent is, well, one of the best bloggers on the Internet. Whereas the token female correspondent is MEGAN MCARDLE.

The other day I looked at their top story: Conor Friedersdorf saying that Rick Santorum has a point about colleges, because after all all American colleges train you to be antiracist, anti-homophobic, etc., and
Show me a kid who writes a racial epithet on the dry erase board on his dorm room door, or drapes a big Confederate flag out his window, and I'll show you a kid who is about to have a conversation with the Office of Residential Life

Shockingly, it gets more ridiculous from there, culminating in the absolutely BS penultimate sentence which I am not going to quote here because it is an entire paragraph long and somebody needs to have his semicolon taken away.

I then went on to the next featured article, which was "How title IX hurts female athletes", Which I assumed was going to be an article about how title IX hurts, you know, women's sports. But actually an article about how title IX encourages women's sports, which means there are a lot of women doing sports, which means they are hurting their little uteruses and getting raped by their coaches, so we should probably stop having title IX. I'M NOT MAKING THIS UP.

What is it they used to say? "Even the liberal new Republic..."
