Quick SPN Thoughts
I enjoyed the Dean angst in this one, I was genuinely touched - and I generally tend to think his angst is overkill these days, so it was nice to be reminded of the days when I loved the Dean angst. His speech about Sam and Jo were kids and he wasn't one made me sniffle. I also loved that Dean would literally rather die than have Sam know he killed Kaylee. (They better not drop this storyline). And hey, remembering Sam was pre-law! Continuity! And by having Sam actually do something legal, it's like a thousand fanfics have been justified.
But it's awfully weird that Dean would feel more guilty about Jo than about torturing people in Hell. It's also weird that Sam would feel fine after Hell, even though I'm pretty sure he was carrying guilt around for the actions of soulless!Sam at the end of last season. Also, Alona Tal was pretty wasted ... I guess she was directed to be "serene and gentle"? Constantly?
And, a minor point, but it's killing me that the big important weapon was a shofar ... so Sam could stab someone with it. Sigh.
