Spoilers for SPN 7x02, Hello, Cruel World -
Everything is right with the world when Sammy has to hold on to his sanity by believing in his big brother.
It even makes up for a Bobby who, after seeing that Sam is hallucinating Lucifer right that second, turns to ask if Dean is okay. (I've complained about this before: Show's tendency to wallow in Dean angst at the expense of exploring Sam's psyche.) And it makes up for Dean deciding he'll kill himself and Sam if Bobby, for fuck's sake, is dead. Because Sammy's gonna get through this by believing in Dean!
But if someone wants to write me the boys go back to the Sam, Interrupted psychiatrist to get Sammy some therapy, that would be fine, too.

You know, with the information about the Leviathans, I *finally* have an explanation for why archangels are Heaven's most powerful weapons -- I mean, why does God *need* walking nukes before Lucifer fell, except to deal with Leviathans? It was always a question in my mind.

Date: 2011-10-01 10:37 pm (UTC)I really wonder what the hell they're doing with the Leviathans -- I'm pretty sure the Leviathan is supposed to be killed at the end of time by Michal and Gabriel, and its flesh, along with that of the Behemoth and the Ziz, is supposed to be the meat at the feast celebrating the Time To Come... so, dinner for the arrival of the Messiah, I think? That would certainly be an ... interesting way to end the show.

Date: 2011-10-01 06:25 pm (UTC)This didn't bother me as much because the moment before read, for me, as Dean *and* Bobby checking on Sam. And if holdinng onto reality is whaty is going to get Sam back to reality, well there's no version of Dean okay wtihout Sam, so he needs to be checked on as well. Or nobody is getting through this.
But I read the checking on Sam as something both Dean and Bobby were doing, so mileage is going to vary. Also I want the brothers as a team which I've missed in recent seasons, so perhaps I am just happy they're all talking and not hiding stuff.
> And it makes up for Dean deciding he'll kill himself and Sam if Bobby, for fuck's sake, is dead.
That part I just hated. Really, Dean?

Date: 2011-10-01 10:31 pm (UTC)Sure, checking on him - but Sam had just confessed to being a lot crazier and falling apart than they'd known - he was hallucinating right then, but immediately the show turned straight to Dean angst. It's a pattern they've been getting into since mid S2, and I understand why - I'm a Dean!girl, he angsts pretty - but it's poor storytelling. Even the episode "Sam, Interrupted" turned out to be about psychoanalyzing Dean.
But yeah - I really don't like hearing Dean's ready to kill himself for anyone but Sam - let alone take Sam with him. Ugh. I said it in earlier seasons but now it's so frickin' obvious - TOO MUCH BOBBY.
