Am I the only person who thought that the guy who knew Kono and wouldn't tell her from where was actually sort of creepy about it?
The cell phone advertisements in this episode were particularly painful. They need to stop that. The cystic fibrosis charity plug was also pretty embarrassing, but that guy can be shirtless on my television anytime he wants.
The Chin storyline ... makes no sense. First of all, we've entered the mythical police procedure land where it's suddenly far easier to get a conviction tossed than it is in real life. I believe I can say with confidence that all of his uncle's old convictions wouldn't be reopened simply because he was accused of stealing money from evidence, let alone stealing it to save the life of his wife - there would have to be some reason to believe he actually tampered with evidence in a way that affected pending cases.
(Wanna know how difficult it is to get a conviction overturned? Check out the facts of this case of a guy where multiple witnesses put him in a different state at the time, but his lawyers and the prosecutors didn't follow up on them at trial, and he was convicted based on the testimony of two people who picked his photo out of a book.)
But even leaving that point aside - doesn't Chin have convictions, from when he was at HPD before the whole mess started? Won't those be reopened and questioned if he's suddenly convicted of stealing money from evidence now? How about his convictions with the 5-0?
Danny needs to not call himself "Daddy" when speaking to anyone but Grace.
Also, I'd appreciate it if he didn't throw burning coals at a suspect's face. That would be nice, too.
And finally, as for next week's episode...
.... I think I already saw this one. When it was called "A Coffin for Starsky."
