this Hawaii 5-0 vid, although I feel like all H50 vids should come with a warning about glamorizing gratuitous torture and elevating white men above all the people of color who mill about in the background.

Not the vidder's fault, obv., it's the show. You know. Whatever. This show makes me so uncomfortable but Danno is like a whole new Starsky. I'm so conflicted.

If there is a vidder who is racially sensitive for the H50 fandom, lamardeuse is it. That vid is a Danny/Steve vid, and so it has less focus on Chin, Kono, and everyone else who isn't white.

I wasn't intending to imply any insensitivity about Lamardeuse. The problem isn't the vidder; it's the source.

Maybe the vid would have looked exactly the same if the show was truly an ensemble and Danny and Steve were just part of a group, but I find it impossible to watch - or any H50 to watch - without seeing how Danny and Steve are the stars with everyone else relegated to background.

Is Danny the blond? I watched an episode for the first time last night, and (if so) oh yes, Danny definitely reminds me of Starsky!

Yes, he's the blond, and I know right? He's even got a bit of a strut. Frankly, it wouldn't surprise me if the actor made that choice deliberately. But it's why I find him kind of irresistible.
