So I'm not sure any of that made sense, but I mostly liked it anyway?
Why so many virgins if they just needed a body for the Mother to inhabit?
Why why why why why why does Cas keep insisting that somehow it would be better to leave Sam's soul in eternal torment than bring him back? At least if he's back he can be killed and put at rest if absolutely necessary.
Why did they imply the dragons were seeking virgins because dragons are just in to virgins if it turned out they needed virgins to bring back the Mother? I mean, presumably, any monster that wanted to bring her back would have needed virgins. Maybe dragons like virgins because they have a particular interest in the Mother?
(FWIW, my FList has asked why virgins necessarily meant adult women, and apparently the answer is because Mom wants a female body and doesn't want to be stuck in a child).
Doesn't Dean know that if you can't pull the sword out easily, further struggling with it isn't going to help?
WHY WHY WHY do they run the damn credits over Dean and Sam's reunion hug but not the Sam and Bobby hug? Are they trying to make us Sam/Bobby 'shippers?
Or maybe Sam/Cas 'shippers, because that aborted hug was cute but weirdly unmotivated?
Did Dean really say Cas is a child? (I like it, actually, and the reason I like it is because it was one of the least ... stylized ... moments involving Dean and Cas that we've seen. I don't know if that makes sense outside my head.)
Is the Mother going to turn out to be Echidna? She could be a resurrected Lilith, I suppose, except that in this 'verse it sounds like Lilith isn't the mother of monsters. Also, Show has never put this much energy into making Lilith interesting before.
Anyhoo, on the whole, mostly I'm glad because Jared did a great job at re-ensouled and distressed Sam - his face when he recognized he'd been walking around without a soul was fantastic. And I'm so happy to have my witch-hunting gay brothers who are in gay love with each other back.
Comicon. Heh.

Date: 2011-02-06 07:24 am (UTC)Well, there is the more traditional and specific meaning of 'virgin' as 'a female who has menstruated but has not had sexual intercourse with a male', but that would theoretically include some pre-teen girls, so... idk.
And yes, I do believe Dean referred to Castiel as a child. Under his breath. In a sort of endearing tone. :D
