There have actually been whole posts about "genius wranglers" - unlikeable male leads who are "handled" by women. (House, for example). Men who are just so special they can break all the rules.
Castle really isn't something for me, though, although I know plenty of people who like it - the ads just turn me off tremendously, because they make it appear that sexual harassment is funny, a woman's anger is funny, and, like The Mentalist, that an unskilled amateur man is equal to a trained, professional woman. I know people who have said the show itself isn't like that, but I just can't get past the advertising.
