Seriously, SVU? Seriously?

I'm only halfway through, but ... seriously, wtf? The premise of the episode is that a lesbian was murdered, and now suddenly SVU is overrun by a group of militant lesbian-rights activists who - led by Kathy Griffin, of all actresses - are "comically" over-the-top and irrational, shout incoherently about the patriarchy, and generally interfere with the investigation through their militant, anti-male paranoia.

For a horrible second there, I thought I was watching Veronica Mars Season 3.

ETA: Also, I refuse to believe that this is the first time in Olivia Benson's adult life that someone thought she might be gay.

I am suddenly extremely grateful that I stopped watching that show a few seasons back.

I miss Munch and Fin but not enough to put up with the show. -_-

My problem with the show started around the time it became the Olivia and Eliot Angst Show. Mind, despite Fin and Munch being my favourites, I do like Olivia and Eliot both a lot and I always liked their relationship. I just didn't want to watch their Angst. Mostly because their Angst isn't what drew me to them in the first place.

I'm told they stepped back from the Olivia and Eliot Angst, but I'll stick to Criminal Minds and L&O: Criminal Intent and the various true crime shows for my crime fixes.

Watching that episode felt like watching "SVU - a parody homage". Funny, yes, but very strange as a genuine episode.
