...I keep trying to read the news, but then I get so depressed I have to surf away.

(It's a little like when Bush beat Kerry in 2004, and I basically couldn't look at a headline for three weeks.)

Blech.

I'd have been just plain "meh" about it except for the violent burning hatred I feel for the romance storyline.

The only character I like is the sister. And maybe Tommy.

Although you'll have to forgive me if I end up vidding it to I've Got a Little List from the Mikado.

Another attempt at voter suppression by the good politicians of Ohio has been struck down by the Sixth Circuit. I linked to an article on this issue before; basically, in more populated areas - i.e., cities, where the liberals and the students and the POC live - voters from several precincts may cast ballots at a single location. The polls are set up so that voters from each precinct vote using a precinct-specific ballot. Ohio wanted to disqualify ballots from voters who were at the right location, but who used the wrong precinct ballot, even when the fault was attributable to the poll worker.

So, basically, Ohio didn't want to count ballots cast in cities. But as it turns out, being a city dweller is not grounds for disqualifying a ballot according to the Sixth Circuit, so there you go.
