All ladyparts, all the time

So, right after I posted about the fandom_helps auction to benefit Planned Parenthood yesterday, everything sort of blew up in the news regarding the GOP's new front in the war on women who have sex. For those of you who missed it:

Congressional Republicans held hearings on permitting religious employers and institutions to deny contraception coverage, and refused to allow women to testify, prompting Democratic women to walk out of the hearing. Democrats had wanted a third year Georgetown law student to testify that because the Jesuit university denies coverage of birth control pills in its student health plans, one female student lost an ovary.

At the same time, all the news was made when billionaire Santorum backer Foster Friess basically said that all the contraception a gal needs is to keep her legs shut. (If you were wondering why jokes about Bayer aspirin were suddenly popping up on your FList, now you know.)

And then there was lots and lots of commentary on Virginia's new "unwanted vaginal penetration as punishment for seeking an abortion" law. I do love it when politicians just come out and admit that once a slut agrees to have one penis in her vagina, she has forever waived her right to prevent anything else from entering, ever.
