Every now and then

I remember how much I've always liked the movie "Nuts," and then I realize my weakness for woobie hooker!fic has apparently been deeply rooted in my soul for decades.

I am watching

a holiday TV movie where Katie McGrath plays an unassuming down-on-her-luck woman from Buffalo (with an inexplicable Irish accent) trying to raise her precocious niece and nephew, who loses her job but then gets an invitation to visit her royal relatives for Christmas (where she falls in love with a prince, natch). ETA: Oh my god, Roger Moore, what are you doing here?

Later this weekend I'll be recording something about a new angel who has to do something, and about a woman who gets a job for the holidays as a secret elf, and god knows how many stories about the adorable child who just wants a mom/dad for Christmas to romance his or her widowed dad/mom.

Why, why, why do I feel compelled to watch these things? It's a sickness.
