I just saw the Star Trek movie!
May. 9th, 2009 12:55 amAnd it was terrific fun, except...
I know why they did it, but I was so disappointed not to see a version of Majel Barrett's Number One. Especially since ... it wasn't like female characters were exactly dominating the screen.
I was completely unspoiled, so I had no idea they were hitting the reset button! My God, that was ... bold.
And it also may have been the first time I liked Zachary Quinto! (I'm sorry, FList, I cannot stand Sylar. I hate him. I recoil when he appears on my screen, such is the depths of my passion. Go on, defriend me now.)
And Chris Pine really struck the right compromise between copying Shatner's mannerisms, and making the character his own.

And all three of the original House ducklings. I still can't stand that they're there.
