...can they identify which clips were added last? Because the clips I add last are the ones where I just couldn't think of anything to put there and finally threw up my hands and said, "Okay! That! I'm just putting that there!" And to me - with only a single exception, where "that" turned out to work really well - these last-minute clips always stick out for me as the clip that doesn't quite work.

Thanks, that's reassuring :-). Because obv., I know the vid better than anyone, but it's so obvious to me which clip doesn't work - it's thematically wrong, usually, or just visually out of synch with the others.

No, those things only stick out to me if it's my vid or one I've beta'd, and have seen multiple versions of. Unless the clip is wildly out of place, visually, I think viewers mostly go with the flow.

Yeah, I assume that's got to be true. I mean, I figure this has to happen to other vidders, but it's rare indeed that I, as a viewer, single out one clip from someone's vid that doesn't work with the rest of it.

I was showing echan part of a White Collar vid I'm working on and every clip that she said "what does that mean?" was a filler clip I'd put in because I couldn't figure out what to put there. She calls me on my BS, I guess. *G*

Heh. She sounds like a great beta :-). But I'm guessing it's a litle different when the vid is in beta process, before you've got it all ironed out. With me, even after everything's done and polished, there's still that one clip or so that was just there because I had to put something down.

Someday, it would be funny to just put a title card that says "Imagine that Dean is doing XX here because I didn't actually have footage of him doing XX."

I usually like the clips I place last best after the clips that inspired the vid, because I've had the least amount of time to get tired of them.

Ah, see, I'm way too vain. It takes me until the vid is finished and I've watched it a billion times since its release for me to get tired of any of it.

Sometimes when pointing out to vidders the clips that I found sparked new connections and made me go "WOW HOW DID THEY EVER SEE THAT?" I've been told that it was basically a filler clip, and then they're like, "huh, so it actually DOES kind of fit there." SO YOU NEVER KNOW, PERHAPS YOUR FILLERS ARE ACCIDENTAL BRILLIANCE.
