We're 4 days out, and there are reports of racist/misogynistic/antisemitic threats, violence, and vandalism all over the country, even in liberal strongholds.  Children are engaging in racist taunts in school.

Steve Bannon is being floated as the new Chief of Staff, and he's set up a meeting with Marion Le Pen, who is the niece of Marine Le Pen.

The Fraternal Order of Police endorsed Trump, and we know there's a Trump segment in the FBI that colluded with Giuliani to force Comey to release the letter about a renewed email investigation.

Kris Kobach, who created Arizona's "brown people must show us your papers" law and who, as Kansas Secretary of State, has defied court orders on voting rights, is joining the Trump transition team.

Trump has no interest in being president, which means one of his inner circle will exercise power - I assume that person will be Bannon. Who will handpick judges to fill the slots that the GOP blocked Obama from filling. Just before the new voting restrictions kick in.  If you think he doesn't have a stable of very respectable, very qualified, secret white supremacists in mind, I have a bridge to sell you.

John Yoo - who defended Bush's torture program - is being invited to meet with Trump's transition team. One of the names for the new head of the CIA was an architect of that program.

This is real.  And it gets worse from here.

If one more statehouse turns red, the GOP will have enough states to amend the Constitution.

All of this is terrible, but that sounds utterly terrifying.

A lot of times I read your poltical posts without commenting because I keep getting so overwhelmed with the situation that I don't feel like I can comment coherently, but I want you to know that your steady concerned posts are appreciated.

This is all so awful. I looked at a twitter collecting reports of hate crimes and it was utterly depressing.

I mean, I suppose some of these horrible things might have happened before without people attaching "Trump" to whatever hateful thing they are uttering or the violence they are doing, I don't really know much about the "normal" US hate crime incidence, but people are always emboldened when they feel they have the powerful and/or a large section of the population on their side.

Meanwhile I guess the official hate crime statistic will soon look much improved because why would anyone report a Trump-inspired hate crime to a Trump-endorsing police? So they will go underreported even more than they are now, but it'll be official "proof" that racism hasn't gotten worse because of Trump.

Meanwhile, I have family members posting to facebook about how poor Trump supporters are being harassed and abused, and I just...I don't know whether to scream or cry. I can't begin to wrap my mind around the world they live in, but the world I'm in is fucking terrifying.

Yes, this. I had a discussion last night with a family member who said something along the lines of, "all these Clinton supporters are infringing my free speech. It's only free until someone says something you don't want to hear."

I do not know where I am in the Stages of Grief at this point.

I am fantasizing that the Electoral College will do its actual job (even though I think the EC should be abolished), and meet in Dec to declare Clinton the Pres-Elect. I know this will never happen, of course, but a girl can dream.

People glared at me like I was speaking hyperbolically when I pointed out that I'd expect to be joining the resistance in the first year of a Trump presidency.

I hope I was.

On the bright side, Marine le Pen and her niece Marion are not on the best of terms. So Steve Bannon may have just have pissed off Auntie by assuming she's best buddies with Niece and assuming one le Pen is much like the other. On the cloudy side, Marine and Marion don't get along in part because Marine considers her niece too extreme to be electable, a throwback to Marine's father Jean-Marie le Pen, the unrepentant Holocaust excuser.

As for the other stuff, I've heard good stuff about the Southern Poverty Law Centre.

I don't often post replies to your political posts, but I really do appreciate them.

This is so terrifying. Thank you for posting it though, I'd rather know and be crushed than be ignorant of what's going on.
